When JQuery meets the CMS
Ajax has been around for a lot of time tho not so many uses it in XOOPS, Impress or Cube whether they are core devs or theme designers they like to overcomplicate things (see CBB with 3 css with 1 for each dropdown selection) by using js's that are as old as the internet.

Curious is that this has been talked about in several forums but most of those discussions remained just that..discussions.

Main reason I'd say its laziness..I mean why search a new methods when u can copy/paste from older works and pretend its "framework". I proposed at one point the integration of the nice 5star rating in the core of a system as the present way is as old as the system and i have to navigate through 2pages in order to rate something, proposal was denied by one person..probably in his www the more pages u have for performing an action, the more accessible the site is,but hey who am I to judge, and i learned my lesson as I will never propose way of improvements of any system.

But getting back to JQ, Suico made wonders with his yogurt module which is one of the best modules existing for XOOPS and the tabs, the lightbox minimized the navigation increasing the speed within the module...I wish i could say the same about the news module and its "spotlight" block but hey maybe loading the whole site when navigating through its tabs its better in their mind.

Here on aphexthemes.com are used 3(or 4?!) jQuery plugins and the section that uses the most is the themes section, I also used one plugin in the making of the CBB templates where some dropdown menus look way better then the original ones.

Don't get me wrong i'm all for the use of css at its maximum but every now and then the simple way is exactly where you aren't looking and when i say simple i say it for both the enduser and the developer.

Oh well, one does what one can and this includes and the ones who won't do but give directions ...or was it can't do?!

I know one thing, XOOPS/Impress/Cube users should expect some themes using jQuery in the themes section in the near future
